Notifications to board members will go out starting this Friday, with a two-to-three-week window for completion and a results report expected in January.
During discussion members raised how to treat new board members and the use of neutral responses. Scott and staff said members should answer every question and, when selecting a neutral response because an item does not apply, explain the rationale in the comments section so analysts can provide context. The board agreed not to change the survey scale but to offer guidance notes and email instructions to members before the survey window opens.
The motion to adopt the governance committee—s recommended form and timeline carried unanimously.
The board concluded the governance item and returned to regular business.
