Board updates on executive director search and Aon actuary transition

President Scott updated the Health Service System Board on the executive director search, saying the application process is ongoing and that 49 candidates had applied as of the prior day. Scott said the Board held a closed screening session Aug. 24 and planned initial screening interviews later in the month. He noted outreach to retired-member organizations across San Francisco and the Bay Area and encouraged members and retirees to submit survey feedback and candidate suggestions.
Scott also announced an actuarial lead change at Aon: Anil Kochar is leaving and Mike Clark, a 29-year veteran of Aon and fellow of the Society of Actuaries, will assume lead actuarial responsibilities. Clark introduced himself and Aon colleagues in the meeting and said his team will assume Kochar27s work on Health Service System actuarial responsibilities. Board members emphasized the fiduciary nature of actuarial duties and asked that the new lead provide transparency to the Board as the work continues.
Scott asked staff to arrange public recognition for a departing long-serving associate at a later meeting. No votes were required for these status updates.
