San Francisco HSS Board Holds Closed Session and Votes Not to Disclose or Report Actions

President Scott opened the item seeking a motion to hold a closed session for the purposes described in the agenda. Commissioner Breslin moved to hold closed session; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. After the closed session the board returned and considered whether to disclose any or all discussion from the closed meeting. A motion not to disclose discussion was moved and seconded and carried on a voice vote. The board then separately voted to not report any action taken in closed session; that motion was also moved, seconded and approved.
The board conducted the votes by voice; the transcript records board members saying “aye” but does not record a roll-call tally for each motion. The motions and outcomes were procedural in nature—relating to confidentiality and reporting of a personnel selection process—rather than adoption of a substantive policy or contract.
