Health Service Board chair to resign at year’s end; commissioners OK governance replacement

Commissioners approved, by voice vote, a motion to seat Commissioner Randy Scott as a governance‑committee member after Frasier said she had been unable to participate on that committee because of schedule pressures. Governance Committee Chair Breslin later presented nine recommendations from a recent board self‑evaluation and the board approved sending those recommendations forward with a plan for follow up and implementation.
Commissioners discussed timelines and next steps for the governance recommendations, with members urging the committee to return with more concrete calendars and task assignments. Several commissioners noted that board education and a trust policy review had been recommended in earlier evaluations and should be considered priorities in implementation.
The board did not take other formal personnel actions tied to the resignation at the meeting; Frasier said the mayor is looking for a replacement.
