Planning staff told the commission the property is listed under Article 10 of the Planning Code, holds a Mills Act contract and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Staff recommended approval, saying the addition would be set at the rear elevation, be minimally visible from the street and would retain primary visible ornament including the bay window and cornice.
