Historic Preservation Commission endorses three legacy businesses, defers Condor decision to Nov. 2

The San Francisco Historic Preservation Commission on Oct. 19 recommended three businesses — Black & Blue Tattoo (381 Guerrero St.), New Royal Bakery, and New Lung Ting Cafe — for the city’s Legacy Business Registry and deferred a decision on the Condor (560 Broadway) to Nov. 2 for further review.
The commission voted unanimously, 7–0, to adopt staff recommendations for the three items after a series of presentations and public testimonials highlighting each business’s historic and cultural contributions to its neighborhood. “I would like to commend all the legacy businesses, especially Black and Blue,” said Commissioner Nagas Warren during deliberations, echoing multiple commissioners who praised the businesses’ roles in their communities.
