- New World Market (5641 Gary Blvd): established 1982, specializes in Slavic and Central Asian foods; staff recommended safeguarding international cuisine, language usage, traditional recipes and façade features.
- S and S Grocery (1461 Grant Ave): family-run since 1959; staff recommended safeguarding a vintage 7-Up sign, inventory traditions and family history; staff also recommended additional storefront features for safeguarding (tiled bulkhead, wood frame windows and awning).
- Yu at Lee restaurant (1300 Stockton St): established 1977, known for Hong Kong-style seafood; staff recommended safeguarding Cantonese-style cuisine, fish tanks and interior design features.
Owners and representatives testified about multi-generation histories and community roles: the Armstrong owner described being the fifth owner with 25 years'experience and the store's role as a neighborhood anchor; S and S Grocery representatives recounted 60 years of family operation and community service. Commissioners praised the program; the Commission moved and unanimously recommended approval of the listed legacy business nominations.
