The Historic Preservation Commission continued consideration of the Civic Center Cultural Landscape Inventory (case 2014.1383U) to Sept. 16, 2015, after staff said the department had received a final draft of the cultural landscape survey and contracted ARG for additional research on the plaza’s recent social and cultural history.
Tim Frey, department staff, told the commission that commissioners’ comments had been addressed in the draft and that staff had identified the need for supplemental research covering recent periods of significance, roughly the 1960s through the early 1990s. The department has contracted ARG to complete that additional work and plans to bring the finished cultural landscape survey back to the Sept. 16 hearing. Staff said the commission could elect to wait until the ARG research is complete and hear both components together.
A motion to continue the item to Sept. 16 was made, seconded and passed unanimously 7–0. No members of the public spoke on the continuance at this hearing.
