Department staff recommended approval with conditions. The project before the Commission calls for a new wood front stair and railing in a style compatible with the house, a painted wood side entry gate, new low‑profile skylights on the gable roof and a rear deck with a new second‑floor stair. Architect Karen Curtis said the skylights will be minimally visible from the street and that the work will restore the property following significant interior fire damage in 2008.
Conditions: the Commission’s approval requires the project sponsor to submit skylight product dimensions, waterproofing details and material samples demonstrating compatibility with the district prior to building‑permit signoff. The sponsor can proceed with the interior permit work already underway subject to those facade‑related conditions.
