Historic Preservation Commission adopts minutes, approves 2015 schedule and continues three items

At its Dec. 17 meeting the San Francisco Historic Preservation Commission unanimously adopted Dec. 3 minutes, adopted a 2015 hearing schedule (canceling the Jan. 7 meeting) and continued three agenda items to January and March 2015 dates.
The San Francisco Historic Preservation Commission on Dec. 17 unanimously adopted the Dec. 3, 2014 minutes, approved a draft 2015 hearing schedule that cancels the Jan. 7 meeting, and continued three agenda items to future dates.
An unidentified commissioner moved to adopt the minutes; the motion was seconded and carried 7–0 with Commissioners Hyland, Jonk, Johns, Matsuda, Perlman, Wolfram and Commission President Haas voting yes.
Planning Department staffer Tim Frey reminded commissioners that department budget discussions will begin in late January and continue into February and asked commissioners to submit comments. Frey also announced a Feb. 9, 2015 commissioner training hosted by the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions at the Ferry Building, organized with support from the Office of Historic Preservation.
On the continuance calendar the commission approved staff-proposed continuances: Item 7 (case 2014.0655 at 3751–3753 20th Street) and Item 9 (case 2013.0164A at 25 Alta Street) were continued to Jan. 21, 2015; Item 8 (case 2011.091L at 2168–2174 Market Street) was continued to March 4, 2015. The motion to continue the three items passed unanimously 7–0.
Commissioners also used the meeting to raise operational concerns: one member urged staff to work with theater operators (Metro, New Mission, Castro) to add protective measures for marquees that are vulnerable to delivery trucks because of street slope and low marquee clearance.
The meeting adjourned after roughly 22 minutes.
