LAFCO Adopts $783,357 Final Budget for FY 2024–25, Requests $386,113 from City General Fund
Summary
The Local Agency Formation Commission approved a final FY 2024–25 budget of $783,357 and requested the statutory contribution of $386,113 from the City and County of San Francisco general fund; staff said the increase reflects cost-of-living adjustments and membership dues, offset by savings from switching to bimonthly meetings.

The Local Agency Formation Commission voted on May 17 to adopt its final budget for fiscal year 2024–25 in the amount of $783,357 and to request the statutory share of $386,113 from the City and County of San Francisco general fund.
Executive Officer Jeremy Pollock told commissioners the final budget was unchanged from the March proposed budget and reflected a modest $22,000 increase from the prior year. Pollock said the budget is funded in part by a $250,000 contribution under LAFCO’s memorandum of understanding with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and by carryforward from the prior year’s unspent balance. The main expenditure increases are cost-of-living adjustments for staff and CALAFCO membership dues; switching from monthly to bimonthly meetings saved roughly $4,000 in SFGovTV costs.
A motion to approve the budget passed on a recorded roll call. Commissioners then voted unanimously to continue discussion of the accompanying work plan to the July meeting so staff can finalize narrative adjustments that will not change the budget totals.
The vote satisfied LAFCO’s statutory requirement to adopt a final budget before June 15.
