During contract negotiation the bidder requested limited reimbursement for higher‑than‑expected insurance costs; LAFCO negotiated and recommended a change to the resolution to set the not‑to‑exceed amount at $45,650, with the additional $6.50 to be paid from LAFCO’s fund balance (Pollack said the fund balance was approximately $75,000 under the adopted budget). Pollack described the consultant team as including architects and engineers and said the scope included a property conditions assessment and community facilitation to explore resident ownership and control models for this city‑owned residential property.
No public comment was received. Commissioner Williams moved to amend the resolution as recommended; Commissioner Singh seconded. The commission voted aye without opposition and approved the amended resolution.
The vote amends and authorizes the executive officer to finalize and execute the agreement with Steven Suzuki for work through 12/31/2024 not to exceed $45,650.
