LAFCO continues public‑member appointment and extends application deadline to Sept. 9

The Local Agency Formation Commission voted to continue the appointment of a public‑member seat (term ending July 14, 2026) to the call of the chair and to extend the application deadline to Sept. 9, 2022. Chair Connie Chan moved to continue the appointment and to extend the deadline; Commissioner Jackie Fielder seconded both motions. Both motions passed on roll call (three ayes).
Chair Chan said the continuance will allow commissioners time to interview current applicants and to conduct additional outreach; public commenter David Pilpel supported continued outreach and encouraged a candidate pool focused on topic expertise for the public‑member at‑large seat.
