Jeremy Pollock was appointed executive officer of the San Francisco Local Agency Formation Commission in a unanimous roll‑call vote at the commission’s final meeting of 2021. Chair Chan moved the resolution to appoint Pollock, Commissioner Fielder seconded, and the motion carried, with Commissioners Marr, Fielder and Chan voting aye.
Pollock, who told commissioners he has “eight years of experience as a legislative aide” to supervisors and four years as an analyst at the city’s Department of Technology, said he views the role as “a unique intersection of local and state levels” and flagged priorities including Clean Power SF and the public bank working group. “I was drawn to working for the city with the goal of advancing transformative public policy,” he said.
Legal counsel read the Brown Act compensation disclosure required for appointing an executive employee. The commission recorded that the position will be hired at salary step 5 for class 9775, paying $142,584 annually, and will include city employee benefits such as medical, dental, retirement, and leave.
Public commenters welcomed the selection. David Pilpel said he “could not be more pleased” with the appointment, and Eric Brooks of Our City San Francisco credited Pollock’s past work as central to launching Clean Power SF. Commissioners also offered support: Commissioner Marr called Pollock “an important leadership hire” with relevant experience.
