"The estimated cost for this survey is $300,000. LAFCO has allocated 50,000," Mr. Gobel said. He added staff were seeking additional grant funding for later phases and had been in talks with the San Francisco Foundation’s Workers Fund Collaborative.
After opening the item for public comment (none on this item), Chair Sandra Lee Feuer announced that Commissioner Gordon Marr must recuse himself; the recusal was moved and approved. Chair Feuer then moved to approve the contract; the motion was seconded and adopted without objection.
The motion authorizes the contract as presented; details of future phases and any additional LAFCO contributions were not specified during the meeting. Commissioners indicated they expect staff to continue pursuing outside funding to cover remaining phases and to coordinate the student research and the larger survey where appropriate.
