LAFCO approves assignment of its legal contract to newly formed firm

Theresa Strickler, who identified herself as general counsel speaking in her individual capacity, told the commission that the firm currently providing LAFCO legal services is splitting and that she will affiliate with a newly formed firm named Rennie Public Law Group beginning March 1. Strickler asked LAFCO to approve an assignment of the existing contract to the new firm under the same terms and conditions so she could continue providing services without interruption.
Interim Administrative Officer Angela Cavillo said the city attorney’s office reviewed and signed off on the assignment language. She said files would be transferred and that the assignment would take effect on March 1. Commissioner Ronan moved and Commissioner Pollock seconded; the commission approved the assignment 'without objections' and the clerk announced the commission approves the contract for Rennie Public Law Group LLC as legal counsel.
Strickler said she was speaking in an individual capacity and that services provided prior to March 1 would be billed by the current firm.
