The Local Agency Formation Commission authorized a one‑year extension of its legal services agreement with Renny Sloan Holtzman Sakai at its May 20 meeting, extending the contract through June 30, 2017, Executive Officer Jason Fried told commissioners.
Fried said the firm requested a $10 per‑hour increase for its staff and described the total fiscal impact as modest. "They were requesting, an increase of $10 per hour for each of its staff," Fried said. He provided an order‑of‑magnitude estimate of approximately $500 more for legal services for the year under the proposed rate schedule.
Commissioner Campos moved to approve the amendment to extend the contract and accept the rate increase; Commissioner Marr seconded the motion. The chair stated the motion was adopted without objection.
Fried told commissioners the contract retains the commission's right to terminate at any time should they decide to change legal services during the year. No public comment was offered on the item.
