LAFCO approves resolution to fold interim executive duties into senior community development specialist role

The LAFCO Commission voted to approve a resolution directing staff to forward a request to the full Board that would adjust the senior community development specialist position to include duties currently handled by the interim executive director.
Staff said the change is intended to provide continuity for CCA-related work and other projects without hiring an in-house Executive Officer; the interim executive director would remain engaged as a consultant. Commissioner Campos said the arrangement "makes sense for that role to be played by an in-house employee" and called relying on an outside consultant for an Executive Officer "odd," saying he supported the in-house change and that it would not add to the budget.
A motion to approve the resolution was made by Commissioner Moore, seconded by Commissioner Campos, and adopted without objection. Staff said the resolution will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for consideration.
