At a special LAFCO meeting commissioners moved and approved a transfer of $126,000 from LAFCO’s available funds to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.
An unnamed commissioner moved to transfer $126,000 from the commission’s current fund of about $800,000; Chair Ross Mercurini seconded the motion. The clerk called for public comment and none was offered. The motion was approved "without objection." No formal roll-call vote was requested.
Earlier in the discussion Angela Calvillo (Clerk of the Board) said the controller showed the Office of the Legislative Analyst needs about $160,000, that LAFCO currently had about $800,000 in carryforward and that the PUC had budgeted $700,000 for CCA this fiscal year; speakers also discussed that another $700,000 could be available in the next fiscal year, creating a theoretical $1.4 million available for CCA work over the coming year if all amounts were available and appropriate for LAFCO to draw on.
Commissioners noted that the $700,000 PUC allocation was intended strictly for CCA work and should remain dedicated to oversight of the program. During debate different figures were mentioned (including a preliminary suggestion of $159,000) before the motion for $126,000 was made and approved. The meeting record shows the motion was made and seconded and approved without objection; the commission provided no further public-record details about the precise allocation or timing for the transfer during the special session.
The meeting returned to other business and adjourned after the transfer motion was approved.
