Commissioners discussed scheduling and agreed to continue the budget item to the March meeting. Staff outlined a March strategic planning workshop to be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium (in one of the smaller rooms) that will include a public comment period. Presenters scheduled for the workshop include Peter Detwiler of the Senate Local Government Committee, Bill Chiat, executive director of the California Local Agency Formation Commission, and consultant Mike Bell (formerly with RW Beck), who will discuss the history, authority and alternatives related to municipal electricity, including muni‑lite issues.
The commission and staff also discussed logistics for the workshop, including whether the event could be recorded or broadcast via SFGTV; staff said they would check with media services and noted efforts to minimize expense while maintaining required meeting notices. The item was not finalized at the Feb. meeting and will return for action after the March workshop.
The meeting also recorded approval of the minutes from Jan. 26, 2007; the record indicates the motion was approved but does not list a mover, seconder or roll‑call tally. The commission adjourned after a brief public‑comment period in which no members of the public spoke.
