SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Entertainment Commission at its Aug. 1 meeting approved the minutes from July 18 and voted 5–0 to approve two indoor limited-live-performance permits on the consent calendar. Commissioners also highlighted two upcoming overdose-prevention and Narcan-training events being coordinated with public-health partners.
The chair called for a motion and the commission approved the July 18 minutes by roll call. Deputy Director Azevedo presented two indoor LLP permit applications with staff recommendations and no additional SFPD conditions; the consent items passed on a 5–0 vote.
Commissioners used the closing portion of the meeting to announce city-supported outreach: staff confirmed a pilot Narcan distribution and training event on Saturday, Aug. 12 (at Oasis) and a second event on Sunday, Aug. 20 (at El Rio), both organized with community partners and intended as pilots to evaluate potential citywide scaling.
“There will be Narcan training and passing out Narcan and fentanyl test strips and educational materials,” staff said, describing the partnership and pilot approach. Commissioners thanked staff for outreach and encouraged use of cultural-district partners to help with future moderation or mediation related to neighborhood permit disputes.
The meeting adjourned at 7:03 p.m.
