Inspectors report several sound citations; senior inspector summarizes enforcement activity

Senior inspector delivered the monthly enforcement summary: the office received 103 complaints since the last hearing and issued notices of violation to South Van Ness West and Temple Nightclub for exceeding allowable sound limits. Citations were issued to Hotel Via (sound) and Trinity Irish Bar and Restaurant (entertainment without a permit). Two follow‑ups were described in detail: The Brixton (2140 Union Street) was cited for violating the good neighbor policy after doors were left open during a DJ performance; White Rabbit (3138 Fillmore Street) was recorded 6 dB above its allowable limit on a late‑night visit and received a citation; staff advised managers on corrective actions.

Senior inspector also noted that an enforcement memo and sound measurement reports are available in the staff folder and encouraged commissioners to direct questions to inspectors. Commissioners asked whether staff routinely take interior residential measurements; staff said it is not standard practice but can be done in unique cases and mediation and mitigation are typical first steps.
