During its enforcement report, Entertainment Commission staff described numerous complaints and enforcement steps at several venues across the city.
Deputy Director Azevedo told the commission staff received 631 3-1-1 complaints regarding Adobe Books this year and made five site visits; inspectors issued at least one citation for an open door during a performance and cited crowding and open alcohol containers blocking the sidewalk. Staff said the bookstore’s cooperative staffing model and 49-person posted capacity have complicated compliance and that staff will meet with the permit holder to discuss crowd-management strategies.
