Deputy Director Azavito delivered the commission’s enforcement report, outlining ongoing enforcement work at several venues.
Azavito said staff continue monitoring Club 26 after repeated complaints from the same anonymous neighbor and have scheduled a meeting with the owner and SFPD Mission Station to try to resolve the issue. About The Independent, Azavito said the enforcement team’s investigation found the venue in compliance with its sound limit, and that other neighboring businesses may have been the source of complaints.
Staff reported discovering a band practice at an auto‑body shop nearby that produced notable sound, and said they are addressing the issue holistically with SFPD and other partners. On Beauty Bar, Azavito said inspectors found multiple permit‑condition violations and that a notice of violation was issued. “We did find them out of compliance with quite a few of them,” Azavito said.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about 311 complaint details, the source of complaints near Bottom of the Hill, and whether repeated complaints came from the same person; staff said the complaints are anonymous but likely from the same complainant based on language in the reports.
The report closed with no public comment and no immediate enforcement actions beyond scheduled follow‑ups and an owner meeting with SFPD.
