Deputy Director Azzavito presented the enforcement report to the San Francisco Entertainment Commission, highlighting three venues and ongoing efforts to resolve noise and live‑entertainment complaints.
Azzavito told commissioners Royal Oak recently hosted a live singer after a period without live entertainment; inspectors have attempted outreach but she said the owners have been nonresponsive and staff is working with SFPD Northern Station to address permitting and compliance. On Delirium, Azzavito said a vent in the back area where the DJ performs is allowing sound to escape onto the street; inspectors have recommended fixes and the venue otherwise appears in compliance.
On 26 Mix, staff compiled 3‑1‑1 records and found 21 complaints from the same neighbor dating to May. Azzavito said weekend inspections have repeatedly found the venue to be in compliance and asked Mission Station to conduct weekday patrols when the complaints are reported. Commissioners and staff discussed training for 3‑1‑1 staff so sound complaints are routed to the appropriate agency and whether complainants should request a non‑emergency police unit response and CAD number to improve traceability.
Azzavito said staff is working to refine 3‑1‑1 filters (to separate busker, residential, and permitted‑venue complaints) and to coordinate with police when enforcement presence is necessary. Commissioners urged continued communication with the complainant and with SFPD to ensure daytime or weekday follow‑up when warranted.
