Commission staff updated the Entertainment Commission on recent enforcement and compliance activity.
A staff inspector reported an inspection at Bruno's Pizzeria prompted by a complaint alleging operation after 2 a.m. without an extended-hours permit and amplified sound into the neighborhood. The inspector said visits on a Thursday and Friday did not observe the venue open; staff will continue follow-up and seek a security plan from the operator.
Staff also reported outreach to management at 1015 Folsom, which had a recent permitted event that prompted a neighbor complaint; staff said the venue is finalizing city requirements for building, health and fire and will be given time to complete those items. Commissioners asked staff to confirm whether in-house security providers are state-licensed and to notify the permit officer so permit records align with public calls.
Inspector Burke reported a Mission-area bar near 16th and Albion where measurements did not show a code violation but staff will work with the operator on low-cost sound mitigation (weatherstripping, drapes). Burke also said Club Malibu visited the office and has about a week to appeal or pay a citation; staff expects a follow-up update in roughly one week.
