Consent calendar: The Commission approved two consent items without public comment — a limited live-performance permit for Horner's Corner (1199 Church St.) and a billiard-parlor compliance matter for Mad Dog in the Fog.
Empire Room (555 Golden Gate): Applicant Jordan Langer described plans to activate the former Stars/Trader Vic’s space with a three-year lease, a ‘social house’ programming model (happy hours, moderate live music), and a commissary kitchen partnering with local food vendors including a subsidized Burmese Kitchen. Northern Station submitted a conditional approval and the Commission voted to approve the permit (motion made and seconded; roll call recorded as aye by Commissioners present).
Oddjob (1337 Mission): Langer also presented Oddjob, a 2,400-square-foot venue with limited DJ nights, live jazz or small performances and a security plan; Southern Station approved the application with conditions and the Commission granted the permit with those conditions.
Continuances and public comment: Two agenda items (identified on the agenda as items E and F) were continued at the applicants’ requests to allow applicants to obtain zoning determinations (letter of determination). A member of the public, Richard Dow of Chinatown, offered brief public comment in favor of continuing a Quick Start Theater item, citing the site’s cultural value.
