Deputy staff and the Central Station review noted no opposition from neighbors in the written record and letters of support in the commission binder, but police staff flagged a 2010 ABC disciplinary history associated with the applicant's ABC license involving multiple violations and an administrative penalty. Lieutenant Ed Santos advised the commission of that past action and said the department did not oppose the permit but wanted the history considered.
During discussion, commissioners accepted a friendly amendment to include the police recommendation that Coco Bang install exterior surveillance cameras and preserve recordings for 30 days. The commission voted by roll call with commissioners present recording "Aye," and the chair announced the motion passed.
The permit as approved is subject to the police conditions placed on the record; commissioners discussed but did not adopt narrower hour restrictions, leaving the approved permit conditioned rather than further limited. Staff will finalize permit language reflecting the camera condition and any other police requirements.
