Applicant Mark Reney emphasized outreach and a nine-page security plan. Captain Mike Redmond of Southern Station said he preferred working with the operator before granting after-hours use but supported collaboration; the commission added the notification requirement.
Cafe Mason (320 Mason) — Tenderloin Station recommended approval with three police conditions: retain existing building security guard when after-hours privileges are used Friday–Saturday, maintain the security-camera system and preserve footage for at least 30 days, and ensure no loitering within 100 feet of the restaurant. Commissioners approved the permit with those conditions.
Akiba (karaoke dessert cafe) — Richmond Station asked for modest additional soundproofing and a locked secondary exit with panic hardware; the applicant agreed and commissioners approved the place-of-entertainment permit with those police-ordered modifications.
Mooka (370 Grove) — Northern Station reported no objection to a limited-live permit for a small jazz/duo program in a parking-garage venue; the commission approved the LLP.
Capt. Redmond said the approvals reflect an effort to balance neighborhood safety and nightlife vitality but recommended operators maintain ongoing communications with police going forward.
