Entertainment Commission approves a slate of venue permits; several granted with conditions

La Rondaia (901 Valencia) was approved for a place-of-entertainment permit following a presentation by the Barrios family and counsel describing the restaurant's long history and renovation; Mission Station asked to review and accept the venue's security plan as a condition of approval.
The Kendra Alexander Foundation at 518 Valencia applied for a limited-live performance (LLP) permit for community events. Mission Station raised concerns about third-party rentals and past ad-hoc events; the Commission approved the LLP with conditions requiring the venue to notify Mission Station about LLP events and to submit a security plan for events that the permit officer deems to require one.
The Sycamore (2140 Mission) was granted an LLP after the applicant removed outdoor speakers and agreed to contain amplified music inside and end live performances by 10:00 p.m.; commissioners noted prior violations and emphasized enforcement.
Golden Gate Grill (449 Powell) was granted an LLP for occasional soft keyboard music. Shanghai (2029 Market) was approved as a place-of-entertainment with a small performance plan (piano and singer). El Farolito (4817 Mission) was approved for extended hours with police conditions and stipulations the Commission applied.
Several items were continued or administratively deferred: the Balanchory (2565 Mission) request was continued to the November meeting at the applicant's request.
Most approvals included standard police/permit conditions such as adherence to the Good Neighbor Policy, required outreach to neighbors, filing of security plans for certain permits, and staff or Mission Station review of those plans prior to full implementation.
The Commission emphasized enforcement: permits that breach conditions risk enforcement action or permit revocation, and staff investigators will conduct follow-up sound tests or inspections when warranted.
