Commission reviews Rocket Room safety history, leaves oversight to Richmond Station

Moore recommended the commission consider denying a place-of-entertainment permit because of repeated noncompliance, but he left the final recommendation to staff and Richmond Station.
Tim Choi, the venue’s permit holder, and Garland PR representative Stefan Ocassolato said the Rocket Room undertook a self-imposed 30-day suspension, hired professional security, changed booking practices, joined merchant associations and engaged in community outreach. Ocassolato asked the commission to consider revisiting some restrictive permit conditions — including security-ratio and closing-time limits — after a sustained compliance period.
Captain Farino of Richmond Station told the commission he and his officers were "very pleased with the conditions" but asked that the current conditions be maintained while compliance is monitored. The commission did not take immediate formal punitive action; instead commissioners agreed to leave oversight and any future changes to Richmond Station and commission staff.
