Commission approves transfer of Underground SF permit in Lower Haight

Steve Johnson, the buyer, told commissioners he intends to keep the venue’s name and maintain the current security and bartender staff. He said he has been in touch with neighborhood leaders on the 400 block and pledged to be responsive to the community and to call police if problems arise.
Commissioner discussion was brief; no public speakers addressed the transfer. A motion to approve the application with conditions set by SFPD (Captain Mannix) carried on a roll-call vote with all commissioners present voting Aye.
Next steps: staff will ensure the buyer complies with the conditions set by SFPD as part of the permit transfer.
