The Entertainment Commission approved a place of entertainment permit for Key Ultra Lounge at 917 Folsom Street after the applicants accepted conditions recommended by Southern Station.
Applicants presented an organizational chart and committed to staffing and control measures for outside promoters. Southern Station’s written conditions require, among other items: 21+ patrons for specified events; security staffing ratios (one trained security person per 80 patrons); one manager on premises during operating hours; front‑door sound curtains; soft close at 1:45 AM with full exit by 2:00 AM; installation of visual recording cameras with 30‑day retention and availability to SFPD upon request; a community hotline answered during operating hours; and compliance with the Good Neighbor Policy and applicable municipal codes.
Commissioners voted to approve the permit with the added police conditions. Staff and SFPD emphasized that these conditions aim to reduce neighborhood disturbance and improve coordination with police and permit officers.
