The San Francisco Commission on the Environment voted to amend its bylaws to change committee and regular meeting dates for 2021.
Policy staff proposed moving the January operations committee to an earlier date to comply with a Board ordinance requirement that there be at least 15 days between an operations budget hearing and a full commission budget hearing. Staff also proposed shifting policy committee and regular commission meeting dates to avoid the Thanksgiving/holiday scheduling conflict and to create breathing room in January for budget work and staff move logistics.
Commissioners offered a procedural amendment to correct a typographical date and to adopt the new schedule starting January 2021. After public comment asking staff to confirm notice requirements, the commission approved the amendment and then the resolution by roll-call vote; all commissioners present voted aye, with Commissioner Wald excused.
Vote: roll call recorded unanimous "Aye" from President Stevenson, Vice President Ahn, Commissioners Bermejo, Chiu, Sullivan and Juan; Commissioner Wald was excused.
What—s next: Staff will publish the 2021 calendar reflecting the amended schedule, confirm legal notice requirements and present upcoming operations and policy committee agendas under the new calendar.
