Commission elects Elmi Bermejo president and Heather Stevenson vice president
Summary
At the Jan. 22 meeting commissioners nominated and then elected Elmi Bermejo to a second term as president and Heather Stevenson as vice president by roll-call votes; Commissioner Ollos was excused.
The Commission on the Environment completed its annual nominations and elected Elmi Bermejo as president and Heather Stevenson as vice president.
Commissioner Walt nominated President Bermejo to continue as president; Bermejo accepted. The nomination was seconded and commissioners conducted a roll-call vote; the record shows Bermejo, Walt, Ahn, Stevenson, Sullivan and Juan voting in favor and Commissioner Ollos excused. The nomination passed.
For vice president, Commissioner Walt nominated Commissioner Heather Stevenson; Stevenson accepted and the nomination was seconded. A roll-call vote recorded ‘yes/aye's' for the named commissioners and the nomination passed.
Commissioners congratulated both officers and noted the commission will continue its work under their leadership.
