Commission honors Deputy City Attorney Thomas Owen on retirement

The San Francisco Commission on the Environment approved resolution 2016-12-COE commending Thomas (Tom) Owen upon his retirement as Deputy City Attorney. Commissioners praised Owen’s role advising the department, noting his legal acumen and steadying influence. Commissioner Joanna Walz and other commissioners said his guidance helped the department craft defensible ordinances and policies. After the resolution passed by voice vote, Commissioner Wald presented an Environmental Service Award to Owen.
Owen thanked the commission and department staff in brief remarks: "I'm very touched, and it has always been an honor and an inspiration to be working for the department and the commission..." The resolution and award were recorded as passed and presented during the meeting.
