Public commenters allege misconduct and voter‑roll problems; commission does not act

During the Oct. 18 meeting, two members of the public used the public-comment periods to make wide-ranging allegations about government conduct and election administration.

Ellen Lijao told commissioners she is a public employee and alleged decades of single‑party dominance in San Francisco government, described what she called "lefty policies" and accused city institutions of "tyranny" and improper practices. She asserted she had been bullied while campaigning and suggested federal reporting of perceived abuses.

Another commenter, who identified herself as Ellen Lee Zhao and said she is a public employee and a member of a civil grand jury chapter, raised concerns about unresolved complaints and alleged that many registered voters on San Francisco rolls no longer live in the city. She urged audits of the election office and asked the Commission to investigate.

Commissioners acknowledged the comments; staff reiterated that complaints are triaged and, if outside the Commission's jurisdiction, are referred to the appropriate agency. The meeting record shows no immediate enforcement or investigatory action taken as a result of these comments; staff said some complaint matters are already on the docket and that referral and triage processes are described in enforcement procedures.
