Commission approves minutes, tables amended statement of purpose for committee review

The commission approved the minutes of a February 10, 2021 special meeting and the February 24, 2021 regular meeting. Each set of minutes was moved, seconded and the roll call produced unanimous approval.
On the amended annual statement of purpose (Item 6), the president said draft versions had generated differing comments from command staff and moved to continue the item to the next meeting while forming a committee to reconcile language and ensure command‑staff input. The president asked Chief Nicholson to appoint Chief Vello and Chief Tong to that committee and the president advised including the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion office in the conversation. The chair continued the item to the next agenda; no final adoption occurred at this meeting.
