Fire Department says physician resigned; nurse practitioner and occupational health to cover services

"We will be advertising that position hopefully within the next week," she said, asking commissioners for comments on the job announcement.
Dr. Clement Yeh, the department—s medical director, told commissioners that nurse practitioner Stephanie Phelps is continuing to see members and that he is providing supervisory coverage. "We currently I'm currently serving as a supervising physician for nurse practitioner Phelps," Yeh said, and added that San Francisco General Occupational Health and outside occupational-health clinics will see more complex cases.
Commissioners asked for a quick turnaround on review of the job posting to avoid loss of continuity and discussed recruiting strategies, including referrals and proactive outreach to qualified candidates. The department committed to proceed with posting and to return to the Commission with recruitment updates.
