Fire Commission approves minutes, goes into closed session and adopts nondisclosure
Summary
The commission approved the Feb. 14 minutes by voice vote, voted to go into closed session to discuss a personnel matter, and after closed session voted unanimously for a nondisclosure; the meeting was adjourned in honor of firefighter Herman Wersch.
At the start of the Feb. 28 meeting commissioners voted to adopt the minutes of the Feb. 14, 2018 meeting after Commissioner Michael Hardiman moved adoption and a second was recorded; the chair called the vote and the motion passed by voice vote.
Later in the meeting the commission voted to enter closed session to discuss a personnel matter under California Government Code section 54957.1(a) and San Francisco Administrative Code section 67.12(b). The motion to go into closed session was made and seconded and approved by voice vote.
After returning to open session the chair reported that the commission had discussed the employee matter and a motion for nondisclosure was moved by Commissioner Joe Alioto Veronese and seconded by Commissioner Francie Covington; the motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned later in the evening in honor of retired firefighter Herman Wersch, who had served 30 years and passed earlier that month.
