Commission votes to enter closed session and later affirms city attorney recommendation in personnel/legal matter

At the April 26 meeting the commission moved and voted to go into closed session under the attorney-client privilege provision of the Administrative Code (section 67.1).
The motion to invoke attorney-client privilege and enter closed session was made by Commissioner Francie Covington and seconded by Commissioner Alejandro Venesi; the motion carried on a voice vote.
After the commission reconvened in open session, staff announced that the commission had accepted the recommendation of the City Attorney's Office in the matter Jessica Kennedy v. City and County of San Francisco, DFEH matter no. 779537-233737 (City law file no. 170054). On a motion by Commissioner Covington, seconded by Commissioner Alejandro Venesi, the commission voted not to disclose details of the closed-session discussion.
Other routine business during the meeting included approval of the April 12, 2017 meeting minutes (motion by Commissioner Michael Hardiman; seconded by Commissioner Francie Covington), which passed by voice vote earlier in the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 7:23 p.m. in memory of retired Captain Ray McGrath (department service 1947'1977).
