Fire Commission continues harassment prevention policy review to Nov. 9 at HR request

The commission opened Item 5, a review of the harassment prevention policy, and at the request of Ms. Jesus Abushong, Head of HR for the department, agreed to continue the discussion and move the item to the Nov. 9 meeting. The chair called for public comment on the item and, seeing none, closed public comment.
Commissioner Nakaju noted she had recently completed the department—s harassment-prevention training and characterized it as rigorous; commissioners exchanged brief remarks about training requirements and the future presentation from department HR staff.
The commission did not take policy action on the item at the meeting; staff will present the policy for review at the Nov. 9 meeting as scheduled.
