Cheryl, a department staffer handling recruitment, told the commission that DBI has received nine applications for the permanent director position and that national outreach remains ongoing. She said staff will conduct screening interviews, compile a matrix summarizing candidates' experience, education and certifications, and present a shortlist and closed-session progress report at the Nov. 17 meeting.
Cheryl said candidates will be screened in closed session and that staff will provide commissioners with a matrix summarizing qualifications to aid deliberations. Commissioners asked that the screening matrix be shared in advance of the closed session and were reminded that the detailed candidate materials will remain confidential.
