The Building Inspection Commission on March 15 elected Commissioner Raquel Bido as commission president and Commissioner Tam as vice president during routine leadership elections.
Multiple commissioners nominated Bido to continue as president; the motion to elect her carried on a roll-call vote, 5 to 1. Commissioner Alexander Toot cast the sole dissenting vote. After the leadership votes, commissioners appointed members to key subcommittees: Bido, Alexander Toot and Tam were appointed to the litigation committee, and Commissioners Summer, Tam and Newman were reappointed to the nominations subcommittee. Those committee appointments passed unanimously.
The commission chair noted a joint meeting with the Planning Commission is scheduled for May 18 to discuss site-permit streamlining, and members asked staff to prepare for that session.
The votes were procedural and internal to the commission; no disciplinary or policy actions were taken as part of the leadership elections. The commission adjourned after routine business and scheduling announcements.
