OCII commission honors Bayview leader Doris Vincent with condolence reading and community tributes

Speakers at the meeting described Vincent as a pillar of the Bayview community who served on numerous advisory councils and nonprofit boards, mentored neighborhood leaders, and helped preserve community voices during redevelopment. Commissioners and community members offered personal tributes and several speakers suggested naming an affordable housing building in her honor to preserve her legacy.
The commission observed a moment of silence for Vincent before adjourning the meeting. The obituary read at the meeting listed Vincent’s community roles, her work on housing and civic committees, and surviving family members.
