Commission approves continued remote meetings under AB 361
Summary

The Commission on Community Investment and Infrastructure voted on Oct. 18 to authorize continued remote meetings under AB 361, adopting findings that a state and local emergency remain in effect and that remote meetings are necessary to protect public health.
Director Kozlowski described the item as a routine authorization under AB 361, an amendment to the Ralph M. Brown Act, and recommended the commission approve the findings allowing teleconferencing to continue. No members of the public spoke on the item.
Vice Chair Rosales moved the resolution; Commissioner Brackett seconded. Secretary Cruz called the roll: Brackett, Ludlam, Rosales and Chair Bustos voted aye; Commissioner Scott was absent. The motion carried 4 ayes, 1 absent.
The authorization allows the commission to continue to hold publicly accessible meetings via Zoom and other platforms while the emergency findings stated in Government Code section 54953(e) remain in effect. The commission will revisit the authorization as required by statute and agency policy.
