The San Francisco Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure Commission approved a second amendment to its personal services contract with Lowercase Productions, increasing the contract by $52,552 to bring the three-year maintenance and support cap to $194,137.
Monica Steen (presenting) described the item as a maintenance and project-administration package to support the agency's redesigned website, which staff said is nearing completion and is intended to make OCII materials more accessible and image-oriented. She said the original contract, entered in June 2018, was for $100,000 and was previously amended in October 2020 to $141,585 to assist with converting the annual housing report. The current request would add funds to cover post-launch maintenance, development and administrative support for a three-year term.
Commissioners praised the design and the staff's outreach to stakeholders. Commissioner Scott thanked Monica for the update and said the new site "isn't stuck in the past"; Vice Chair Rosales pressed about features for stakeholders, asking whether the site will include guidance on contracting and notices of RFPs/RFQs. Monica confirmed those features will be included and staff is reviewing content for consistency.
Commissioner Scott moved approval of the amendment and Vice Chair Rosales seconded. Roll-call vote recorded Commissioners Brackett, Scott, Rosales and Chair Bustos voting yes; one commissioner was absent. The motion carried 4–0 (1 absent). Staff said the target for website launch is early fall and that OCII will use the site to highlight staff work, SBE and MBE participation, and commission news.
The contract amendment authorizes maintenance and support for the revamped site but does not itself change procurement rules for other OCII contracts. The amendment funds ongoing technical and content support intended to keep the site current while staff continues to refine functionality and stakeholder content.
