DBI updates SFpermit rollout, flags build-date risks but says go-live remains on track

Project manager Sean Buenen briefed the Building Inspection Commission on the Exela "SFpermit" project (rebranded SFPermit), reporting that the design phase is complete and that development work—interfaces, environments, and report scripting—is underway.
Buenen identified three risks: data migration (a large effort that required additional resources), delayed report specifications that are being reprioritized, and a citywide payment adapter contract that could affect online payment processing. "You—9ll see that May 7 date is yellow at risk of not being met," Buenen said, adding that missed internal dates were expected to be short (days to a couple of weeks) and that the project team had added resources and consultant time to address slippage.
Bue nen said the team expected development and environment builds to be complete, data migration scripts ready and the project to be in systems testing by the time of the commission—9s next update, leading into user-acceptance testing scheduled to start May 30. Commissioners thanked staff and asked follow-up questions about milestones and vendor outreach.
