Citizens’ GO Bond Oversight Committee re-elects Chair McHugh, names Tim Matthews vice chair

The Citizens’ General Obligation Bond Oversight Committee voted to keep Chair McHugh in place and elected Tim Matthews as vice chair during its Nov. 1 remote meeting. The committee also approved the minutes of its Aug. 23, 2021 meeting and discussed procedural items for the annual report and membership vacancies.

Nominations for chair were opened and Speaker identified as "Bridal" renewed the nomination of McHugh; another member seconded the nomination. The committee took a roll-call vote and the Chair election was recorded as passed. Brian (speaker labeled Bridal) then nominated Tim Matthews for vice chair and a second was recorded; a subsequent roll-call vote recorded several “Aye” votes and Matthews was confirmed as vice chair.

The committee approved the Aug. 23, 2021 minutes after a motion to accept was moved and seconded. Roll-call votes recorded Member Larkin, Member Matthews, Chair McHugh, Member Pantoja and Member Sanderlyn voting “Aye.” Several members were absent for parts of the meeting.

Staff noted two open seats on the committee: one seat nominated by the Board of Supervisors and a mayoral seat vacated by Jane Natoli. Staff said they are coordinating with appointing offices and aim to have nominees seated by February, with a possible December target found to be unrealistic. Committee leadership and staff also discussed scheduling and content for the committee’s annual report.

The meeting concluded with a reminder that a resolution authorizing the committee to continue meeting remotely, under the state and city temporary changes to open-meeting rules, will be placed on the December agenda. The committee adjourned at 10:40 a.m.; the next meeting was scheduled for Dec. 6.
