The Commission on Community Investment and Infrastructure elected Miguel Bustos chair and Mara Rosales vice chair at its regular meeting on Dec. 17, 2019.
Under item 5(a), commissioners nominated and voted to place Miguel Bustos in the chair position. The roll call vote was recorded as three ayes and one absence. "I'll accept the nomination for chair," Bustos said during the proceeding after his nomination and a second. Later, under the same agenda item, the commission nominated Mara Rosales for vice chair and recorded the same roll-call result: three ayes, one absent. "Congratulations, commissioner," the chair said when announcing Rosales's election.
The elections were conducted under section 27 of the successor-agency bylaws, which staff listed when opening the nominations. No public comment was recorded on either leadership vote, and the commission took no other formal action tied to the elections at the meeting.
The commission will carry these leadership changes into the next regular meeting scheduled for Jan. 7, 2020, at 1 p.m. in City Hall.
